M6 CP - Home Page and Navigation System, Final Project (Part 1)

For the home page and gallery pages there will be the most focus on presenting artwork, and the contact and about page will more so rely on a minimal amount of works or graphics provided on WIX. The home page will probably be presented with words overlaid on a artwork photo or stands on-top of one.

Fantasy Avatar PT.2

Image
For my design of a fantasy avatar, I wanted to make something like a humanoid, feline appearance. I followed mainly the approaches the fantasy avatar video provided, such as using the lasso tool, color layers, filters like added noise, fill layers, etc. I tried adding more visual elements, like the hair, ears, and nose, to add more animal-like features. I added certain photo filters for some lighting on the eyes, as well as morphing aspects of the eyes, such as their size and pupil shape. I used color adjustment layers to harmonize the colors. The inspiration for this fantasy idea mainly came from the fantasy franchise Elder Scrolls, specifically their fantasy race of the Khajiit.

The ideas I came up for these were from inspirations of images in old school polygon fantasy games, and any other science  fantasy ideas I found from other artists.

M4 CP- Book Cover Design (Part 2)

Image
This book cover is a redesign of the graphic novel I picked out, "Batman Death of the Family". The illustrators for the original cover, shown below, are Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion. For the text I mainly kept it as the same font type to keep it consistent, changing it only in certain parts such as the bottom of the front cover or the spine. For Gestalt Principles I used the Law of Proximity with the two images on the front cover, having their faces masked out and being parallel to one another, as well as the back images, being farther apart and being parallel. I believe that my rework still captures the dark tone that the subjects of the original novel presents, even with the original being more grotesque with its cover images. Original novel image:

The Graphic Novel I chose was Batman Death of the Family, not to be confused with another Batman Novel title A Death in  the Family, which released earlier and was written by a different author.  Images of the Graphic Novel below This Graphic Novel Series' story is pretty long but in short the Joker basically tries to mirror Batman physically by cutting the flesh of his face and wearing it as a mask, just like how Batman wears a mask to cover his face. Th Joker in this tries to take things a step further, not allowing  Batman to be ahead of him, and go after Bruce Wayne's closest friends and family to essentially ruin him.  My redesign ideas below
